Seasoned strategist with over 15 years of experience building public-private alliances and leveraging resources for better educational, health and economic opportunities for communities of color. System’s-focused thinker adept at identifying areas of alignment across diverse stakeholder groups to aggregate impact. Keen understanding of effective non-profit and grantmaking practice to enhance execution and results.
As principal and owner of The WIT Group, Tamara lends her expertise to grantmakers and non-profit organizations that are deeply committed to advancing systems-focused strategies that lead to equity and impact. Working at the intersections of health, education, workforce, economic development, leadership development and justice, Moore has been deeply engaged with partners such as The California Endowment, California Funders for Boys and Men of Color (CFBMOC), College Futures Foundation, Casey Family Programs, Sierra Health Foundation, Kapor Center for Social Impact, BLU Educational Foundation, Marcus Foster Education Institute, Alameda Health Pathway Partnership and others to improve life chances for people of color with a deep focus on black and brown communities.
Prior to launching The WIT Group, Moore served as senior program officer at the College
Futures Foundation, where she conceived and led Community Initiatives, a multimillion dollar systems change portfolio to improve college access and success for low income, students of color in California. Moore was also responsible for the Foundation’s leadership in the field on postsecondary achievement and young men of color (YMOC); her work was foundational to College Futures’ focus on place-based approaches and its emerging YMOC strategy.
Moore is a proud graduate of California’s public higher education system with degrees from San Diego State University and California State University, Long Beach. She’s an Association of Black Foundation Executives Connecting Leaders Fellow and member.
